"My Prayer was Stronger"

Many of you probably experienced the massive thunderstorm that errupted about 5 this morning. The thunder woke me up immediately and I noticed that the thunder and lightning were right on top of each other so I knew we were in the heart of it. I went to check on Ty because his bed is right by the window and I wanted to move him so he'd be safe. Bode had woken up, but after I re-wrapped him he calmy listened to the chaos outside and drifted back to sleep. Matt woke Ty up to bring him in with us. When he heard the thunder he said, "Oh that's a big sound...I'm scared I need to go in your bed." The storm went on for quite awhile and I told Ty that whenever he's scared he can say a prayer or sing "I'm a Child of God." So he decided he better start singing. It was so cute to hear his sweet little voice and when he was done the storm had moved on and was not as scary. He said, "The big sound went to Alec's house (his friend a few doors down)" and I said I think Alec is saying a prayer too because the storm's not at his house either. And then in the true spirit of a competitive 3-year-old Ty said, "Mamma, my prayer was stronger." Matt and I laughed and kissed Ty and told him how cute we thought he was. It's amazing what these little minds whip up!
